Harry Potter Against Twilight — Who Brought home More Golden Popcorns At The MTV 2011 movie Awards?

The City of Angels in California has served as an important location for the 2011 MTV movie Awards last June 5, 2011. Jason Sudeikis of the comedic television program Saturday Night Live, popularly known as the SNL, hosted the spectacular event. As expected, the show was jam-packed with different personalities from the world of entertainment. Some of the presenters include Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Ashton Kutcher, Chris Evans, and Elle Fanning.

The vampires and werewolves of the Twilight film series defeated the wizards and witches of Harry Potter as the franchise took home five awards that include the Best Movie award for Twilight Saga: Eclipse. British actor Robert Pattinson and American actress Kristen Stewart took home the Best Male Performance and Best Female Performance for their movie Twilight Saga: Eclipse, respectively. But, it is not a total loss for Harry Potter fans out there because Tom Felton grabbed the Best Villain award for his performance at the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 as the Death Eater Draco Malfoy.

Probably, the most shocking moment in this award ceremony was when Robert Pattinson, also known the hot vampy Edward Cullen kissed Taylor Lautner, which is otherwise known as his alter ego Jacob Black, when he and his leading lady Kristen Stewart won the Best Kiss award for their movie Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Well, were you surprised when you saw it? You don’t have to worry, neither R-Pat nor Taylor Lautner is gay.

The official release of the first trailer for the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 was yet one of the highlights of the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. The trailer was full of thrilling and exciting scenes to watch including the most awaited wedding of Edward and Bella. I can’t wait till November 18, 2011 comes.
