Traffic snarl-ups on Dubrovnik streets are tangible proof of increasing number of arrivals in the first seven months of this year. “9% more visitor arrivals and 7% more overnite stays are realized. We are planning about 10% increase in tourism results,” recounted Jelka Tepisic, director of TZ Dubrovnik.

The results in Dubrovnik-Neretva County are similar. In the first seven months arrivals increased by seven p.c, and overnite stays by 5 p.c. Hotel traffic increased by seven p.c, while the camps and personal owners noted a decline of three and two p.c.

“The first info shows mainly the increase in cash compared with last year, but we are going to see what will happen with the price side of the total business,” claimed Vladimir Bakic, director of TZ Dubrovnik-Neretva county.

President of Dubrovnik travel agents points out that the most plush hostels achieved the best results and are scheduled from May to late Sep. Hotels with five stars are literally sold out.

“We are achieving superb costs and according to the situation as it is now, a recession has passed,” asserted Luca Baca from Grand Villa Argentina – a beautiful villa located in an exclusive area, near the important middle of Dubrovnik.
