ok so I’m watching Star trek and i need help understanding something…?
is the star fleet where chris pine drives to on his motor cycle like partners with the vulcan people that spock is in? do they know each other? or are they enemies? help!!!

Vulcan (the planet and the people) and Earth are founding members of the United Federation of Planets (UFP), which is sort of like an interplanetary United Nations.

Star Fleet is sort of like the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces.

Star Fleet Academy is the university school that trains new Star Fleet officers & enlisted personnel.

Earth is home to the headquarters of the UFP and Star Fleet, and Star Fleet Academy.

In the movie Star trek (2009), Kirk (Chris Pine) drove his motorcycle to the Star Fleet yard where the USS Enterprise was being built. When he arrived, he gave the motorcycle (which actually belonged to his step-father) to one of the ground crew.

The ground crew personnel are a mix of Star Fleet and civilian employees.

Vulcan has a fairly strong presence on Earth, soit is not unusual to find Vulcans serving in all aspects of Star Fleet duties, including in a Star Fleet ship construction facility.

While they may not know Kirk personally, they are not enemies.
